Wemba Otike-Odibi
(15 August 1972 – 16 April 2005)
Wemba Otike-Odibi was the third child of late Chief and Mrs. Otike-Odibi. He had a sister and two brothers.
He spent his early years in the city of Benin in Edo state, where he attended Emotan Nursery and Primary school. For his secondary education, he attended the University staff school, after which he studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Benin, graduating in 1998 with an upper class honors.
After Wemba graduated from university, he moved to Port Harcourt, Rivers state, where he worked with an oil servicing company. Later on he left to work with an IT firm – Tranter Limited, still in Port Harcourt. In 2001 he was employed by one of Nigeria’s foremost Telecommunications’ companies, MTN, and by 2005, he had quickly risen to head the Contact center’s support team.
He got married to his sweetheart, with whom he had two lovely daughters. He enjoyed basketball, Karate and motorcycling. He was passionate about God, family and caring for the under privileged.
In April 2005, he died in a tragic bike-related accident in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Wemba was an amazing man; he was ambitious, generous and kind hearted.
His memory lives on in our hearts.
